I am going to be honest here from the start and just admit it. I was not too impressed by Mile Me Deaf when I saw them for first time supporting The War On Drugs last year. Isn’t it funny how quickly things change?
The debut album EAT SKULL, which was a bedroom project of Wolfgang Möstl, and was greeted with a lot of fanfare. A year of hard work and grafting with the Sex Jams later and Mile Me Deaf return with an EP which leaves you crying for more. MOORRRRRRRR
The EP will officially be released on the 21st of June. The five brand new tracks will be premiered in their support slot for Kurt Vile in WUK on the 18th of June. We will keep this simple : All five tracks are simply fecking brilliant. Brando, the title tune of the EP has already established itself as a radio favorite and will be accompanying us all summer long. In the car, on the tube, at picnics, in the shower, maybe even the bedroom – who knows. It is without doubt the strongest track on the album, but all of them have their own great qualities too. Hands Up is perhaps my favourite, and should be paid special attention to live.
The Brando EP is like a little musical hand grenade. Pull the pin and let it blow your mind. 9/10
Oh, and the video for Brando is also pretty amazeballs.
Mile Me Deaf will be touring this summer so you will have plenty of opportunities to catch the new tunes live. They will also be supporting My Bloody Valentine in July!
