A rather inspiring person introduced me to this song recently. While I am not a massive Antony and the Johnsons fan, the song accompanied with the video is simply sublime.
The video is directed by Nabil Elderkin and it deals with shifts in power and future feminism. It also has a very strong cast with Willem Defoe and Carice van Houten (if you watch Game of Thrones then you will know who she is).
If, like me, you don’t like the sight of blood or certain areas being vividly slit open, then watch it with one eye closed.
While Antony himself claims that the video doesn’t have a moral undertone, if there is one thing we can learn from this video, then it is this: Don’t leave kitchen knives, hammers and other dangerous objects lying around within easy reach.
