Waves Vienna 2013 – Who to see and where – Day 2

(C) Substance is Meaningless
(C) Substance is Meaningless
Bo Candy and his Broken Hearts (AT) – Charlie P’s – 18:15-18:45
This one is an early start and perhaps a rather unusual location, but if you like English and Irish beer, decent food and damn good tunes then this might be the right place to kick off day 2.
Dream Koala (FR) – Viktor-Bucher-Gallery 20:30-21:15
Experimental chillwave electro from Paris. Koala’s are one of my favourite animals, and dreaming is great, ergo, Dream Koala should be the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Kristoffer And The Harbourheads (SE) – Flex Café 21:30 – 22:15
Sweden has a reputation for producing very good indie pop bands. Kristoffer And The Harbourheads can be added to that category. There is a happy-go-lucky feel about them a la Shout Out Louds which makes them worth a visit.
Mozes & the Firstborn (NL) – Fluc  22:15-23:00
Influenced by  70s garage rock, Mozes And The Firstborn make music with a “we don’t give a fuck” attitude a la Black Lips, and should be seen at all costs.
BRNS (BE) Fluc Wanne – 22:45 – 23:30
BRNS from Belgium make tunes which instantly catch your attention with their combination of danceability and moody ambience, and it is just a short, tipsy trip down stairs from Mozes and the Firstborn.
Roosevelt (DE) Fluc Wanne 00:00-00:45
Fluc may well be the place to be on Friday night as Roosevelt takes to the stage to turn on the electro juice. Sea is a song which takes you back to the summer, and refuses to be disliked. The drummer from German band Beat! Beat! Beat! has plenty more bangers in the case where that came from as well.
Ghost Capsules (AT) – Fluc Wanne 02:30 – 03:15
Ghost Capsules make music for the night with big beats and silky lyrics. They also have a song called Games of Thrones. Need we say more?
