WAVES VIENNA 2013 – WHO TO SEE AND WHERE – DAY 3

(C) Substance is Meaningless
(C) Substance is Meaningless
The Beth Edges (AT)- Odeon – 18:45 – 19:30
What better way to start the hungover Saturday than with a bit of acoustic happiness from the Beth Edges, one of Austria’s favourite indie pop bands.
Sin Fang (IS)– Flex 19:30 – 20:15
Another fantastically atmospheric, haunting and inventive artist from Iceland. Sindri már sigfússon makes music to close your eyes and enjoy the wonder of the world too.
Mmoths (IE) Odeon 20:00-20:45
Jack Colleran aka Mmoths has made quite an impact this year with his form of chill-wave electronica, teaming up with the likes of Keep Shelly In Athens and Holly Miranda to make emotive, minimilastic gems. The Irishman has been perfectly placed in the Odeon, where the full glory of his music will be on show.
Float Fall (BE) MS Schlögen 20:15-21:00
Float Fall‘s Someday has an element of the XX to it, but with a little more of optimistic perspective. Rozanne Descheemaeker and Ruben Lefever will be playing their version of dream indie pop at MS Schlögen.
SOHN (UK) Odeon 05.10., 21:15-22:00
Fans of atmospheric, electro chill music will not have to move from the seats after watching Mmoths with the next top act lurking on the sidelines in the form of Sohn. This has been a big year for Sohn, and there may not be too many opportunities to see him in such an intimate location.
MÚM (IS) Flex 05.10., 22:00-23:00
After Sin Fang comes the next band out of Iceland. Beautiful melodies, dramatic tones and wonderful memories to be had for all who choose to go to this one.
I-WOLF & THE CHAINREACTIONS (AT) Fluc Wanne 01:15-02:00
A melting pot of sounds to get the blood pumping into the early hours of Sunday morning as Wolfgang Schlögel of the Sofa Surfers will be presenting his new project I-Wolf along with the Chainreactions.
HEADBIRDS (ES) Pratersauna Mainfloor 02:30-03:15
Waves Vienna wouldn’t be complete without a few hours in the Prater Sauna. As the name reveals, it is an old sauna house located in the Prater and is a must visit if you are new to Vienna and checking out the festival for the first time, even if you are not a massive fan of djs. Dani Guijarro aka Headbirds from Spain is worth checking out amongst a fair few others.
