Things to see and do – 12.11 – 18.11

There is sooo much stuff worth seeing this week again, if you can find the time and the money to fit it all in, then you should check out these gigs.

The Eclectic Moniker w/ At Pavillon @ WUK – 12.11

The Danish happy song making machine The Eclectic Moniker will be returning to Austria after playing alongside the Arctic Monkey at the Harvest of Art festival in the summer and they will be supported by local lads At Pavillon. We did an interview with them recently. READ IT HERE
If you’re looking for something with a bit more kick then Aivery in Fluc should do the trick

The duo will be celebrating the release of their excellent debut album (review here)  in Chelsea. Definitely one of the must-see gigs this week in our very humble opinion.

Blue Bird Festival 2013 @ Porgy and Bess – 14.11-17.11

The first two days are already sold out, but there might be some tickets up for  grabs somewhere. Amanda Palmer, Dawa, Adam Green (who also has an exhibition at the Artspace Pirmin Blum on Friday night as well) and many more top bands playing across the 3 days.

CRYSTAL FIGHTERS @Arena – 15.11

This one seems to have been jotted in the calendar for months. The demand has been so great for tickets that they will be playing two gigs in one night, at the same venue. There are still a few tickets available for the second gig, but you should act fast.
The Global 2000 birthday party has been able to book some pretty solid names to celebrate the passing of another year with as A.G. Trio, Velojet and many more will help get the party started.
There will be some extravagant eccentricity on show in Fluc on Friday night as well, as Crazy Bitch in a Cave celebrates the release of the Rear-View Mirror 7″.

Unknown Mortal Orchestra w/ Mozes and the Firstborn @ B72- 16.11

There is a lot of decent stuff happening on Saturday. Unknown Mortal Orchestra already have two excellent albums behind them and we like Mozes and the Firstborn…..a lot. It will be a very intimate affair in B72, which is always nice.
The wonderful Efterklang will be playing in the Arena, which will be just as good, in a completely different way.
If you are looking for something with a bit more local flavour then Fluc is the place to be as usual for the I Wanna Boogie With You release party  on The Vinyl Heart Club Records label.

For your Sunday night entertainment we would have recommended Gerard in B72, but that one is sold out already….

Punda Omar @ Rhiz – 18.11

Perfect Monday night entertainment after a heavy weekend should be spent in Rhiz with Punda Omar as part of the Club Waidwund with free entrance. We have mentioned Punda a number of times on SIM already, and his music is definitely worth checking out.
