Things to See and Do – 11.02 – 17.02

Our recommendations have a distinctly German flavour this week with a smattering of good ol’ Englishness on the side. Lovely jubbly.

U.K. SUBS (UK) / TV SMITH (UK) @ Chelsea- 13.02

Punk rock legends now in their 5th!!! decade of making music. It won’t be to everyone’s taste, but it is definitely a must for fans of the genre.
If you like your music with a political overtone then Reiner von Vielen in B72 should get your vote.

Peter Licht @ Schauspielhaus- 14.02

The German artist and author will be playing in Schauspielhaus on Valentine’s Day. The perfect date for you and your special other? We’ll let you decide.

Maximo Park @ Flex – 15.02

Yes, Maximo Park are still going strong, and they continue to have enough pulling power to sell out Flex on a Saturday night. They may not have the popularity of their former glory days but their latest album “Too much information” got some decent press, and the band are renowned for their energetic live performances.

INK.MUSIC + REICH & FÖHN present DIE NERVEN // AIVERY @ Rhiz – 16.02

nerven

When Reich & Föhn and Ink Music team up then you can be pretty sure that something special is on the way.. Die Nerven make music which really does hit a nerve, for some it’s that nerve gets “the juices flowing”, for other perhaps not. The fact that the first thing you see on the band’s website are their choise of the “funniest” reviews, which range from “Hipster band for old farts” to “perfect for Feuliiton writers and Starbucks visitors” reveals that this band really doesn’t give a fuck. We like that.
