A FOREST – THE SHEPHERD
The Shepherd is taken from the album „Grace“, by A Forest. It was be released on October 2nd on Analogsoul and is their biggest project to date. The vocals have a definite character about them which demand attention.
BIKE THIEF – THE BURNING PAST
The Burning Past is taken off their record “Stuck in a Dream” which came out on August 30th. Febian Perez, frontman and genius behind the Portland folk group BikeThief, has been waiting a long time for this moment. After a few years of perfecting his band’s lineup and sound, he and his four bandmates are finally able to celebrate a release.
SHELTER POINT – CUT ME LOOSE
Nottingham based Robin Hearn and Liam Arnold started their musical journey in 2012 with the release of their debut EP ‘Forever For Now’ via influential British label Hot Flush. The pair have been spending time refining their trademark sound and the result is 2 new tracks, Serenity and follow up Cut Me Loose, which was officially release via RCA sub label Space + Time on 6th October.
SPRINGTIME CARNIVORE – SUN WENT BLACK
The debut album from American artsist Springtime Carnivore (aka the nom de tune of Greta Morgan) is a dreamy work of ebullient pop and looming psychedelia, evoking a mellow high on a Sunday afternoon, where everything is magnified and glows in Technicolor.
THE VAN DOOS – BABY BE BRUTAL
2nd feature for The Van Doos on SiM, this time the North Yorkshire four-piece, produced by Tristan Ivemy (Frank Turner, The Heartbreaks) return with their 2nd release, Baby Be Brutal. Another indie banger.
WE WERE PROMISED JETPACKS – I KEEP IT COMPOSED
The Scottish band’s sound has developed into a brooding melting pot of guitars and subtle sound since the stormed onto the scene a few years ago with Quiet Little Voices. I Keep It Composed is the first track from their third album ‘Unravelling’, which comes out at the start of October.
ANOTHER GREEN WORLD – DISGUISE
Alec West, also known under moniker Another Green World found himself “pulled in different directions between early 80′s synth pop and late 80′s shoe-gaze. Memorial is the result of a stream of conscious writing, both in music and lyrics.” The lead single “Disguise” encompasses what’s to come next from his upcoming LP, due out October 21st.
