Keep yourselves entertained with these little treats this week.
Maximo Park @ Arena – 14.10
Yes, they are still going, and yes, they are back in Vienna.
Death from Above 1979 @ Flex – 15.10
There is not much happening at Flex any more, and most of the headlines these days revolve around financial scandals rather than decent gigs. But DFA 1979 is one of the best bands to grace their walls in a long time.
There is a singer-songwriter special at B72 on Wednesday as well if you’re looking for something with less drums as Kidcat Lo-Fi, Katrin Navessi, Laura Rafetseder, A.Lies take to the stage.
Salon Skug #100 @ Rhiz – 16.10
Cherry Sunkist will be playing alongside Andrey Kiritchenko at the 100th edition of Skug in Rhiz on Thursday night, and it will be the first of two nights in a row in Rhiz to celebrate.
The Antlers at Flex offer strong competition. The brooklyn-based band have a strong following around the world with their ambient indie.
Tycho @ Wuk – 17.10
Wonderfully atmospheric electro music from the San Francisco based artist, and in the wonderful WUK
Wanda will be celebrating the release of Amore with an Album release Show at Chelsea. They make fluffy austro-indie with a jagged inner soul. The gig is already sold out, but who knows…
The Swans are back in Vienna with another performance in the Arena. The cult legends always put on a good show.
Electronic Beats Festival @ MQ – 18.10
Another sold out event but there might be a few tickets flying around on T’Interweb somewhere with Caribou, London Grammar and more.
Bonaparte @ Arena – 20.10
The collective have been around for an eternity, and is no surprise that they are slowly on their way to maturity. The crazy costumes and masks have been toned down, but the music is just as intense and crazy as before. Were, are, and always will be a band worth watching.
